1.0 POSITION SUMMARY:
Habco Industries is a key provider of tools, ground, and test support equipment that serves the
Aerospace Industry; both fixed and rotary winged aircraft. Habco’s customers range from the
largest aerospace OEMs in the world to end-users of aircraft; across both commercial and military
applications. Habco is a Lean focused organization that has a 50+ year history of quality &
customer focus in the industry.
For the past 5 years, the company has grown significantly, expanding both the type and caliber of
work it manufactures across a diversified portfolio of customers. The key to Habco’s talent
selection process is finding the right “fit” for its culture. In addition to its extremely fast-paced
environment, Habco also has a complex business model with 3,000 – 5,000 items shipping
annually across multiple value streams – each with its own make/buy decision.
2.0 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
• Welding and fabrication of sheet metal products, ranging from simple component
parts to complex products, such as frameworks and shells for machinery, according to
work orders and blueprints.
Understanding and basic operation of plasma cutting, press breaks and shearing, all
general operations, including deburring, tapping, countersinking, rolling, and
mechanical assembly utilizing various sheet metals, such as aluminum, steel, and
stainless steel material.
Layout and plans sequence of welding subcomponent parts into final product.
Set up and welding of mig, tig, and spot-welding operations.
Designs and constructs templates and fixtures.
Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications, using various measuring
equipment, such as square, calipers, ruler, tape measure.

Performing routine maintenance and service of all equipment in the shop and
maintaining TPM logs.

Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Monitoring the feed and speed of machines during the machining process to improve
efficiency and quality.

Other duties as may be assigned or required.

3.0 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School diploma or GED.

Trade school or documented on the job training.
Minimum of 5 years trade experience
Ability to calculate algebraic variables and formulas and have a basic understanding
of trigonometry.

Able to subtract, multiply and divide fractions, decimals and whole numbers.
Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime as required
Ability and willingness to lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. with
assistance as required.

Ability and willingness to work in an area where there is moderate noise intensity.
Ability and willingness to work in an area where, due to normal machining operations
there may be dust, fumes or smoke.

4.0 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Successful completion of MIG / TIG training course or program certification

Small machine shop work experience.
Tool/fixture making experience.
Understanding of lean concepts.
Mechanical experience and willingness to cross-train and work within other
disciplines.
5.0 COMPETENCIES:
• Have good housekeeping practices
