Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the
WELDER
is responsible for working from blueprints and drawings to fit, weld, and finish steel parts using a MIG welding process. To be successful in this role, you will be familiar with standard welding concepts, practices, and procedures; possess expert welding knowledge and strong math skills; and demonstrate the ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining superior attention to details.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Read and utilize drafting drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine specific welding requirements
Setup welding equipment and MIG weld steel components based on specifications
Grind, prep, and finish weldments and inspect all parts for proper assembly and possible defects
Operate machinery to cut and bend steel as specified on work orders and assist machine operators as needed
Load and unload raw steel and other materials as well as final products and items packed for shipment
Maintain on-time deliveries by moving orders through the production workflow in a timely manner
Perform preventive maintenance on machines to reduce downtime and uphold quality standards
Identify and recommend manufacturing process improvements
Cross train in other functional areas as business needs dictate
Adhere to all safety protocols and keep a safe and clean work area
. Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Industrial Technical degree (CW, CWS, CWE) or similar certification strongly preferred
1 + years hands-on MIG welding experience required
2 + years hands-on machine shop experience
Familiarity with 2D Laser, Plasma Cutting Table, Press Brake, Tubing Bender, or similar equipment
Experience operating reach truck forklift, telehandler, and overhead hoist
Must be able to read and comprehend work orders and shop flow programs
Comfortable working with MS Office and other business software
Strong mechanical aptitude
