Job Purpose:
To weld and fabricate parts in accordance with specifications and per company standards, and install overhead crane systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Must be able to work as part of a team.

· Analyze blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.

· Cleans and prepares parts before welding.

· Sets up and operates thermal welding equipment to weld, repair, join or fabricate parts by working with blueprints, sketches or verbal orders.

· Examine parts for defects and measure parts to ensure conformance with specifications.

· Moves material with appropriate equipment throughout the work area as needed.

· Completes standard job sheets for each job.

· Reports any discrepancies in material to management.

· Maintains tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.

· Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.

· Notifies management of any large repairs needed.

· Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

· Ability to work periodic weekends and holidays as needed, and do short travel work, (3-5 days), possible overnight stays.

· Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs. on a consistent basis and up to 75 lbs. on an intermittent basis.

· Work above ground heights, averaging 20 ft., sometimes in excess of 50 ft.

· Wear a body harness and fall protection consistently throughout the work shift

· Ability to work in shop and off-site field work in a typical industrial facility environment

· Involves standing, walking, balancing, crawling, crouching, stooping, climbing, bending, sitting, and reaching throughout the work shift

· Involves talking and hearing along with vision (near and far)

· Requires hand/eye coordination

· Ability to pass GMAW, and SMAW, 3G, A-36 weld certification test

· Pass training and testing for powered industrial trucks, aerial work platforms, and mobile cranes

· Must have own tools

Position Requirements:

Education:
HS Diploma or GED Equivalent.

Experience:
3+ years of related experience required.

Required Skills:

o MIG and Stick Welding

o Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

o Basic computer knowledge.

Travel Requirements:

o 50-100% in field work

Miscellaneous:

o Must possess a clean driving record in order to operate corporate vehicles.
