Welder/Fabricator II

*Will be hiring a majority to be Swing Shift, Monday – Thursday, 4:30pm – 3:00am*
Joins metal components, and fills seams of metal components. Follows blueprints and specifications. Inspects equipment and structure. Must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Study Blueprints and Bill of Materials (BOM’s) to determine material requirements and task sequences; verify conformance of materials according to layout and blueprint specifications using squares, rulers and measuring tapes
Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter
Perform MIG, TIG and other types of weld based on project needs
Position, align, fit, clamp, tack, and weld parts in the assigned work area
Interpret blueprints and weld symbols; weld parts in flat, vertical or overhead positions using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
Monitor the fitting, burning and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of the material
De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture
Safely move work-pieces into position, with forklifts or overhead cranes

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
High school diploma/GED preferred
2-5 years of experience in welding
Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment
Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
Ability to read blueprints and recognize welding symbols and specifications
Ability to access data on a computer and accurately enter information
Ability to use heavy machinery, such as forklifts and cranes (Forklift Certification)
Knowledge of physical properties and welding characteristics of a variety of metals
Knowledge of industry safety practices
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and upper management

The Arcimoto Manufacturing Plant (AMP) is where production, fabrication, warehouse, and machining activities are present. The noise level in the AMP can be moderate to loud some of the time. The Arcimoto East building is where research and development, materials, and servicing activities are present. The noise level in the Arcimoto East building is moderate to loud some of the time. The Arcimoto West building is where Tilting Motor Works activities are present. The noise level in the Arcimoto West building is moderate to loud some of the time. Arcimoto has various other buildings where administration, accounting, marketing, sales and engineering activities are present.
