Non-Exempt, Hourly Position

The Welder & Fabricator is responsible for using MIG welding tools to produce prefabricated galvanized metal stud walls for interior and exterior applications. These walls are then finished by applying exterior coatings and shipped out to our customers throughout the United States to erect the walls onsite. Production is currently running first shift Monday – Friday 7:00 – 3:15; overtime may be available at times.

This is a full-time position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Able to read and understand assembly drawings

Regular use of MIG welding and other hand tools to grind and finish galvanized steel products according to written specifications and blueprints

Produce and maintain quality product to the required specifications

Pack and load product as specified by set standard

Layout material according to blueprints to prepare work for welding

Responsible to maintain the pace of production needed and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Adhere to safety policies to produce work in a safe manner

Must be able to follow work instructions and work independently with limited supervision

Will be cross trained in other areas of the company to understand the business and work in other positions as needed

Perform other necessary duties as directed by management

QUALIFICATIONS

Possess a mechanical and technical ability

Certified welder

Two years of MIG welding experience

High School degree

Able to safely operate warehouse equipment including pallet jack, forklift, overhead cranes, saws, drills, grinders, and hand routers

Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds frequently

Past construction and/or construction framing experience preferred but not required

Must be able to pass AWS Certification within 90 days

Must adhere to the company’s attendance policy

Must be a team player that is willing to help in other areas as needed
