J & K is looking for a full-time, welder/fabricator to join its team. Primary duties include fabricating mild steel, stainless, and aluminum. This includes reading drawings to determine the components that need to be fabricated, fabricating the components, and assembling them to meet the specifications of the drawing. Fabrication requires strong knowledge of shop equipment including the shear, brake press, notcher, drill press, band saw, and bender. Working with a team and coordination across the shop will be required for completion of large, multi-stage jobs.

Duties

Read and interpret engineered drawings to determine work required.

Fabricate mild steel, stainless, and aluminum based on drawings provided.

Weld mild steel based on drawings provided.

Shear, cut, bend, brake, notch, punch, drill steel when required.

Assemble components as required per drawing.

Ensure all work is within allowed tolerances before job completion.

Minimum qualifications

2 years experience fabricating stainless steel and aluminum.

AutoCAD experience an asset.

Strong and efficient communication skills.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Experience or certified in forklift operations.
