Tile Setter / Slab Fabricator

Bruce Olson Construction is looking for a Tile / Slab Fabricator lead.
We serve the Greater Lake Tahoe and Truckee area with our main office located in Verdi

Summary/Objective
The Tile Setter is an integral part of the tile and slab fabrication team and supports the tile and slab stone finishes the Company offers its clients in their kitchens, baths, bar areas, game rooms and other areas. Need to be able to lead crew members with confidence and BOC quality in mind.
Essential Functions
Under general supervision of the Tile Dept. Manager and/or shop/jobsite foreman performs repetitive and routine tile and slab fabrication tasks. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Planning layout as instructed.
2. Preparing surface and underlayment areas.
3. Installing vertical and flat tile including but not limited to floor, wall and shower tile.
4. Fabricating slabs including but not limited to cutting, texturing and polishing surface and edges of material. Fully understanding and able to operation all fabrication equipment.
5. Assisting with other installations in the field as required.
6. Assisting with the loading & unloading of equipment and/or materials.
7. Shop and jobsite maintenance including sweeping and other housekeeping-related tasks.

Work Environment
This job requires work to be performed in a shop or on a construction site. Tile and slab fabrication team members are expected to be able to perform in an indoor or outdoor environment including various weather conditions.

Lifting, pulling and pushing objects (equipment, materials or tools) up to 80 lbs. unassisted occasionally, up to 40 lbs. unassisted frequently and up to 20 lbs. unassisted continuously
Bending at the waist, twisting, rotating, squatting, stooping and/or kneeling frequently
Standing for extended periods of time
Climbing ladders, scaffolding or other job-made ladders frequently
Walking over uneven, wet and/or slippery surfaces, including dirt, gravel, mud and snow, frequently
Ability to work in all-weather conditions (varies from strong sun and heat in the Summer months to heavy rain, snow, wind and cold in the Winter months)
Performing repetitive motions for long periods, such as cutting, screwing and soldering using hand or pneumatic tools

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, year-round position, scheduled for 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Weather and other factors could cause a variance in the work schedule.
Travel
Travel is primarily to jobsites in and around the Truckee/Lake Tahoe area.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Fluent English.
Preferred Education and Experience
Completion of a vocational education program with an emphasis on plumbing and heating.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including fractions.
A clean driving record.
Bi-lingual with Spanish.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
1. 10-hour OSHA certificate for the Construction Industry
