Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Swiss CNC Setup/Programmer/Engineer will setup Swiss CNC centers and equipment, Swiss style machines and manual machines to meet production demands.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILILTIES:

  • Support production with machine setups, trouble shooting, process improvement, operator training and other functions
  • Program Swiss machines with Part Maker software
  • Support engineering with part updates, machine layouts and programs, as well as other functions
  • Attend trade shows to gain knowledge on different and new technology within the manufacturing field
  • Generate new business quotations for customers; includes cycle layouts and choosing proper tooling for the job
  • Communicate with customers throughout the entire quoting and manufacturing process
  • Suggest modifications to customer specifications to simplify engineering and manufacturing problems
  • Generate blueprints, tool layouts and programs on newly awarded business
  • Provide guidance and training to other employees
  • Support lean activities and team building to continuously improve the business and maintain individual and team alignment with company goals and objectives

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read and understand part prints/drawing and specifications
  • Experience with Tsugami Swiss CNC, Star Swiss CNC Machines, Fanuc controls
  • Experience with inspection devices, specifically optical comparators, micrometers, and calipers
  • Experience with drawing software, Solidworks is a plus
  • Experience with computer and/or machine programming, PartMaker CAM a plus
  • Ability to be a team leader
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment for long shifts
  • Driven attitude for problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Ten years minimum work experience in CNC swiss machining
  • Strong decision making, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Exhibit core values of integrity and accountability
  • Read, write, and interpret documents and instructions in written, oral, print, diagram and schedule form (English)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely
  • Physical demands include standing, bending, sitting, and kneeling
  • Regularly possess manual dexterity for assembly of tooling, small parts and working with equipment and controls
  • Vision requirements include (corrective or non) close range, distance, color, peripheral and depth
