interfaces with engineering, construction, management, clients and clients’ inspectors on quality and welding-related concerns at project sites and/or our fabrication facility.
Implements quality assurance/quality control programs for the Company.
Receives owner, manufacture and engineering quality requirements and applies them to the project.
Supports planning, development and implementation of vendor surveillance activities for procured items.
Manages third party inspection service for bolting, welding, nondestructive testing, and others as may be required.
Develops and implements electronic welding procedures for the Company (various AWS Codes and ASME Section IX).
Certifies welders per AWS and ASME Codes and maintains their certifications according to same Code.
Develops and maintains a welder continuity program for trades that do not participate in the Common Arc program.
Participates in Common Arc testing as needed and certifies new-hire welders as needed.
Interprets engineering drawings, specifications and code requirements and insures that the contractors have all the required quality plans, procedures and certifications
Performs inspections within field of expertise.
Interfaces with clients through client surveys at the start, during and at the end of jobs.
Interfaces with third party inspection services per client inspection requirements.
Documents inspections and related quality control activities.
Performs random jobsite audits to assure conformance to AISC, ASME and project specifications.
Qualified candidates will ideally possess a bachelor’s degree plus to ten to fifteen years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
