Heavy Metal Fabrication Environment:
Our company is a Manufacturer of Specialty Heavy Duty Forks designing and building custom units. Typical materials include: ½” to 4” steel.
General Outline of Job Description:
We are seeking a person with top quality welding abilities for wire welding of ½” to4” steel with multi-pass welds. The applicant must be able to read and understand blueprints, have good math skills, be able to convert decimal measurements to fractions, be able to identify various raw materials, interpret blueprints and assemble parts per print. Applicants must have the discipline to verify measurements are to specification on print and be willing to performing other duties as assigned. Fabricated parts are structural requiring full penetration with a top-quality exterior finish to provide durable and high-quality products to our customers.
General Physical Abilities:
Strength: Lift 75 pounds regularly, safely, without causing injury to oneself.
Mobility: Ability to bend down to floor, pick up items, lift to table height.
Mobility: Ability to grasp materials, tools & fixtures with hands & manipulate safely into position as required by the blueprints and related fixtures.
Good eyesight & vision to clearly read and understand fine information on blueprints and measurement devices.
Hearing, that allows applicant to hear instructions from others, and operating equipment to allow for safe work.
Experience & Skill Qualifications:
Read and understand spoken English
Experience in heavy metal fabrication (solid core mig welding)
Experience operating Jib and overhead gantry cranes
Superior blueprint reading skills
Skilled with metal working measurement devices.
Experience operating a drill press, manual lathe, band saw, and bench and hand grinders
Willingness to learn to operate blast media unit and paint gun.
Must pass required weld certifications and forklift training within first 30 days.

Work Hours (subject to change):
Four 10-hour days – 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, with overtime on day off and some weekends.
Sample Daily Responsibilities:
Arrive at work timely to be at your workstation at the beginning of your shift.
Read, understand and follow established company procedures.
Fabrication and welding of steel assemblies per print instructions.
Interpret blueprints and assemble parts (ability to do own set-up per print)
Verify measurements are to specifications on print before, during and after fabrication and welding process.
Acquire signed and dated documentation to any deviations from prints or procedures.
Perform finishing/clean up of welds and assemblies after fabrication and welding.
Complete required paperwork for measurement proofs, completion sign off and material tracking.
Operate grinder, forklift, jib crane, brake press and overhead gantry crane.
Operate band saw, and complete required documentation of receiving /kitting
Operate blast media unit and paint gun
Maintain a clean your work area.
Practice safe work habits.

Summary of Requirements of Welder/Fabricator:
Successfully complete employment application, written test, blueprint test, and welding test.
Possess advanced blueprint reading, fitting, and wire welding knowledge and skills
Must have professional heavy steel fabrication experience.
Must have Good references
Must have positive attitude, good work ethic, and be honest.
Must be able to speak to fellow employees knowledgeably and respectfully.
Quality assurance inspection experience is a plus.

Pay: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour
