Mig and Tig Welder/Fabricator – 1st Shift

Job Summary
Operates fabricating machines such as MIG welders, grinders & hand tools. Puts together sheet metal parts & weldments.
Responsibilities and Duties
Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating a MIG-welder.
Lays out, cuts, fits, measures, and welds metals to create the desired shape or object
Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process
Designs and fabricates the equipment and parts for special or unusual needs, using manufacture specifications, calculator, measuring devices, and drawings
Designs and creates holding jigs that aid in fabrication of parts
Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment
May prepare the materials and set up for a welding device
Participates in continuous improvement (CIP) activity
Strictly adheres to Quality standards
Adheres to all safety policies and procedures, including the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, etc.
Qualifications and Skills
3-5 years of related experience
Possesses basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
Knowledge of specific welding processes, such as TIG, MIG and various other fabrication processes
Ability to use heavy machinery, such as forklifts
Knowledgeable of safety precautions related to occupational hazards, procedures and practices of the trade
Basic knowledge of welding symbols and blueprint reading skills
Ability to work in a team environment
