Job Summary:

Fabricators perform tasks that are necessary to the production process. They aid in blade layout, operation of press brake, spot welding, and use of a tig welder. Successful candidates with strong attention to detail and the ability to closely follow instructions from engineering department. The hours will be 3pm-1:30am, Monday – Thursday and eligible for a shift differential.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints

Constructing base templates if necessary

Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines

Setting up metalwork machinery including cold saw, drill presses, band saw, brakes, tape measure and/or calipers

Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work

Fabricating and constructing metal components

Grinding and finishing completed products

Performing quality checks on completed products

Conforming with state and company safety regulations

Completing job reports

All other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints

Proficiency with metal fabrication tools including cold saw, tape measure, band saw, general power tools and drill presses

Good understanding of quality control principles

Good communication skills

Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition

Ability to lift and manipulate large metal pieces

Ability to stand for long periods

Ability to work in a Non-A/C environment

Education and Experience:

AWS certification preferred

High School diploma or equivalent preferred

3-5 years of experience as a Metal Fabricator

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

While performing duties of the job, incumbent is required to stand for full shift; walk; sit; use hand to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up 50 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Non-A/C work area; the noise level can periodically be higher than normal, hearing protection may be required
