Manufacturing Supervisor ~ 1st Shift (Laser Product Line)

Position Summary & Purpose: Responsible for Leadership of manufacturing associates in a manufacturing and assembly environment. The supervisor is responsible for achieving production requirements through the efficient use of human, capital, and material resources. The supervisor also insures that all company policies and procedures are adhered to, conducts performance evaluations and coaches the associates for improved performance and career growth. Continuous improvement through the implementation of Operational Excellence is a requirement to enable CI to be a competitive provider of machine tools.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure positive associate relations. Provide associates coaching for career development. Makes employment decisions. Resolve associate issues through the use of the appropriate leadership skills.
- Drive manufacturing KPI’s for safety, delivery, quality, & cost for the department
- Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and update the Value Stream daily. Ensure the development and training of staff that meets defined performance standards Maintain compliance to the company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in a technical discipline OR Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline
- 3-5 years prior work experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong leadership qualities
- Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management Highly motivated, very detailed and service oriented with a proven track record
- A strong drive to learn and improve your overall capabilities
- Strong communicator with positive attitude
- Good critical thinking skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement, embracing change and our company Core Values Certification or Experience in implementing Lean Practices is preferred
- CNC Machining experience or extensive relevant industry experience is preferred
