The primary objective of the Maintenance Swat Team is to lead an organized effort to resolve maintenance issues at all locations with the utmost efficiency for the company. Maintenance Swat will be deployed for MAJOR emergency breakdowns at any KLC location in addition to scheduled maintenance projects. The Millwright specifically will use hands on techniques to troubleshoot gearboxes, pumps, small motors, belts, etc with little or no supervision. Additionally, bending, punching, cutting and welding to build desired components as well as assisting in other general maintenance tasks. The daily activities of Swat maintenance personnel are subject to change due to the needs of the mills therefore, scheduled hours must be flexible.
Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot mill and mobile equipment
Ability to take precision measurements and attention to detail
Confirm repairs by align, calibrating and basic operation
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed drawings related to project/machinery
Dismantle equipment when as required and reassemble as needed
Maintain confidentiality of any sensitive information
Service each mills needs as efficiently as possible with regard to cost as well as productivity
Participate in any planning as needed to execute each project/task with high efficiency including planning/ordering/obtaining parts and materials
Set the bar on Safety compliance, LOTO, PPE, Hot Works Permits, etc.
To conduct interactions with the highest level of professionalism
Welder / Fabricator Specific
Measure and cut materials to specifications
Weld materials using the correct materials to join the metals together
Reading and understanding prints/specs prior to starting a project
Select appropriate machine and settings for task
Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete assignment
Maintain a safe and clean work area
Communicate with the purchaser and Manager to further support cost effective ways to manage purchasing and inventory control company wide.
Travel to all locations with minimal notice
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements:
Effective Written and Oral communication skills
Able to work well with minimal supervision
Ability to Prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
5+ years relevant maintenance experience
