Maintenance Supervisor

Specific Responsibilites
Responsible for development, training and retention of all phases of maintenance staff.
Performs maintenance planning, scheduling and validation function and ensures the most efficient use of resources to maximum reliability and equipment uptime.
Leads day-to-day maintenance operations.
Demonstrates unwavering commitment to Occupational Safety policies and protocols.
Performs inspections and audits to ensure work is being done according to standards.
Responsible for the timeliness and quality of maintenance work and repair by Aviagen maintenance staff and external services.
Coordinate and leverage a network of service providers including fabricators, welders, pneumatic and hydraulic expertise.
Directly troubleshoot mechanical systems
Directly assist with maintenance and repair when needed.
Manage maintenance equipment and material inventory.
Manages third party maintenance service providers, such as contractors and vendors.
Works collaboratively with other departments and across hatchery leadership.
Ensures strict adherence to Bio-Security and Animal Welfare standards.
Trucking/Vehicles/Logistics work – Maintains routine maintenance on all vehicles. Coordinates all egg and feed pick-up.
Purchase equipment or material necessary for the maintenance department and maintain accurate record.
Ensure machinery is functioning at optimal capacity at all facilities and grounds are well maintained.

Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance or relevant field of study (preferred)
Experience Requirements
5 years of industry or facilities maintenance experience.
At least 1 year of direct supervisory experience.
Working knowledge of maintenance principles including planning implementing and evaluating facility maintenance.
Maintenance leadership including work planning, assignment scheduling, employee evaluation, and training.
Previous experience in at least two of the following areas with working knowledge of the remaining:
mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and instrumentation.
Physical Requirements
Exposure to chemicals such as detergents, disinfectants
Standing for extended periods of time (6 hours)
Grip, grasp or twist using hands and wrists
Lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50lbs
