Fitter/Fabricator
Layout Fitter / Fabricator needed for busy ship repair fab shop.
Day and Night Shift Available – Monday – Friday
Pay – $24-$27 DOE
The Layout/Fitter will use Blueprints and work orders to lay out, fit steel to angles and fit them together. They will then tack the steel with minor welding so that it is prepped and ready for the welders to finish the welding. Must be able to work machines in the shop – brake, press, shear, etc.
Regular use of blueprints, weld symbols, measuring, shop math and material handling equipment to move steel into place.
Layout and fitting will be on Misc Metals as well as Structural Steel. Must have own tools (welding hood, tape measure, layout tools etc.) to properly do the job. (2) years experience as a structural fabricator needed.
