Job Summary:
The Service Technician will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repairs of dairy waste water equipment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Repairs machinery equipment following oral and written work orders; this requires driving to and from various work sites daily.
Reassembles equipment, tests function of pumps and mechanical units using auxiliary power. Test-run motor at various speeds and observe efficiency of operations.
Ability to perform major and general repairs on all equipment.
Required to record labor and material used on each repair made.
Required to take proper care and use of test equipment.
Move large objects using heavy equipment.
Assist site supervisor in soliciting new business and in managing relationships with existing customers.
Responsible to maintain truck and shop inventory, keeping records of parts orders, transfer orders, and cycle counts.
Conduct company business in a manner consistent with health and safety guidelines.
Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
Knowledge of machinery, electrical and other systems and their components.
Experience with belt, chain, and direct driven machinery as well as chain, belt and screw conveying systems and machinery.
Good verbal and communication skills.
Must be able to use and read tape measure.
Valid Class B Driver’s License, at minimum.
Crane Certification (or obtain within 6 months of hire).
Welding Certificate (or obtain within 3 months of hire).
Proficient in manufacturing math; multiplication, division, decimals to fractions, fractions to decimals.
Ability to use gauging equipment from .001” up, dial indicators, micrometers, feeler gauges, etc.
The ability to climb and work from ladders and/or man-lifts.
Must pass pre-employment M. A. T. testing & Fabricator Tool Test

Environmental Conditions:
Indoor with typical office environment 10% of the time. Noise level in this environment is low to moderate.
Indoor/outdoor typical manufacturing environment approximately 25% of the time. Noise level in this environment is moderate to high.
Outdoor with exposure to weather approximately 65% of the time.
Perform duties as assigned while following safety requirements, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE).
Possible environmental exposures when performing job duties are: o Dirt, grease, fumes, and airborne particles. o Noise from loud machinery. o Chemicals and paint. o Hot/Cold temperatures.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to kneel, stand, and squat consistently.
Must be able to lift and pull weight up to 50lbs. to load/unload service unit in truck.
Must be able to pull up to 12” diameter lay flat hose from lagoon.
Must be able to use 10lb. sledge hammer.
Must be able to use electrical tools such as grinder, hammer drill, 3/8’ drill and circular saw.
Must be able to use hand tools such as rachets, wrenches, screw drivers and snap ring pliers.
A 40-hour work week will be considered normal. Extra hours, working non-scheduled hours, and extra workdays may be required.
Compensation:
Pay is based on experience.
