Fabricator / Welder Technician

Summary:
The Fabricator / Welding Technician will assist in the design of and implement the fabrication of facility fixtures and tooling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform custom MIG / TIG welding (7018 & 6010 stick)
Skillfully weld various types of steel, metals, and materials
Lay out, position, align, or otherwise set pieces in place preparatory welding and measure dimensions to specification
Clean and degrease parts to be welded using wire brushes, grinders, or solvents
Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment including electric arc welders, gas shielded arc welders, and gas welders
Read blueprints and drawings for fabrication of designs
Processing improvements of current equipment and designs
Forklift and Overhead Crane operations
Drive company vehicles as required
Paint materials
Prepare fabricated designs and materials for shipment to plants
Communicate needs for parts, equipment, and upcoming orders
Perform other duties as necessary
Job Requirements:
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Must have communication skills and ability to effectively follow directions
MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL UP TO 3-4 WEEKS OUT OF EACH MONTH
Flexible hours are mandatory
Must be dedicated to meet deadlines and critical ship windows
Must be a team-player and work cooperatively to meet production goals
Qualifications:
Technical school degree in welding, will consider equivalent experience / testing
5+ years welding / fabrication experience
Demonstrated mechanical ability
Welding and Shop Safety knowledge
