The Studio Fabrication position handles fabrication of studio brand products. Signature fab is responsible for building a large portion of the Hammerton fabrication process. Building several different product lines tied to Hammertons Signature brand. This entails building a variety of lighting products. Signature brand holds high quality standards for their products. Fit and finish are pivotal to this position. Excellent grinding and finish work is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Demonstrated ability to read design drawings to fabricate metal using techniques such as welding, shearing, and sawing.

Position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.

Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.

Examine completed work for defects, and measure pieces with straightedges and templates to ensure conformance with specifications, report nonconforming material to team leader for quality assurance.

Steel MIG welding a must Minimal aluminum welding preferred training provided if needed

Actively participate in 5s activities

Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred

6 months or more of fabrication experience preferred

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to read design drawings

Demonstrated ability to show attention to detail

Ability to be on your feet for 8 hours or more

Ability to constantly lift up to 25 pounds

Ability to work along with other team members

Understanding of deadlines and the importance of them

Ability to MIG weld steel (aluminum MIG welding a plus) training provided if needed

Show on time and have reliable transportation

Working Conditions

This position works primarily in a Fabrication shop which includes high level of noise, welding flashes, grinding dust, and oils and lubricants.

This position requires the employees to have the ability to consistently lift up to 25 lbs.

All employees are required to participate in 5s activities that include keeping the shop as clean as possible.
