J & S Construction is looking to fill an immediate Opening for Full Time Fabricator/ Welder / Mechanic to join our shop team in Oswego Illinois. The ideal candidate will have 5+ year of work experience in, Metal Fabrication/ Welding, with some experience as a mechanic.

The applicant will need to be able to work safely, independently, and efficiently in a shop environment and be able to weld with both MIG and stick, operate plasma cutter, operate oxy/acetylene torch, operate drills, grinders and other hand tools, accurately and precisely use measuring devices, lift 50+ lbs., read and understand English, be able to work a full time schedule Monday through Friday and be available for the possibility of some overtime, and have their own personal tools

Required Qualifications/Education-

· Ability to fabricate and weld necessary parts for a site and civil construction fleet.

· Self-motivated, self-starter, who demonstrates the ability to manage time effectively.

· Ability to work independently as well as within a team

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Highly organized, efficient, detail oriented and accurate.

· Must be able to absorb suggestion and be accountable for performance.

Work Environment

This job operates primarily in a shop environment. This role routinely uses standard shop equipment such as lifts, hoists, cutting torches and welders. Occasionally work needs to be conducted in the field and this may require the use of other appropriate equipment and personal protective gear

Days and hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work hours may include occasional overtime to meet demands
