Summary

Prep steel for welding, layout, drills, and taps holes for custom machines to blueprint specifications.

Job Functions

Perform GMAW (Mig)

Read and interpret blueprints

Operate jog saw, belt sander, and various other power tools.

Operate a 4.5- and 7-inch bench grinder.

Operate Matobo cut-off wheel.

Operate 5- and 10-ton overhead cranes and other industrial equipment.

Perform oxy-fuel cutting and plasma torching.

Identify potential problems with designs and work with engineers to find a solution

. Requirements:

Proficient at reading and using a tape measure

Certification of 1G is preferred

Knowledge of fractions and decimals

Able to use Windows PC

Own side cuts, combination square, framing square, tape measure, welding hood, and basic hand tools
