About the Company:
Pro-MEC Engineering Services, Inc. is a multi-faceted firm that, although primarily an industrial and commercial service provider, also performs plastic and steel fabrication, builds control panels in our UL® 508A listed shop, and provides NEBB certified testing and balancing, commissioning and retro-commissioning. In addition to being a leading service provider in the air pollution industry, our company also manufactures tanks for the fire industry and systems for the grow industry. Our qualified staff can also perform a variety of service, repairs, maintenance, and installations of chemical processing lines, material handling lines, and conveyor systems.
Summary: This position is responsible for the layout of parts and assembling through various fabrication processes. Our fabricators work with a variety of materials including steel, aluminum, stainless steel, PVC, Lexan, and other plastics.

Non-exempt (hourly)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist lead fabricators in fabrication of non-production jobs including hoods, duct, fans, mezzanines, etc.
Fabricates pieces using equipment to cut, burn, and weld
Able to operate the following equipment: thermoplastic hand welders, MiG, TiG, and Stick welders, chamfers, vertical and horizontal band saws, butt welders, fusion welders, press brake, shear, and fork trucks
Lay out material according to blueprints to prepare work for welding
Review of finished assemblies and parts to ensure accuracy against drawings and BOMs
Follow all internal and external safety policies
Maintain a professional appearance
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
High school diploma (or equivalent) or greater
2 years minimum steel or plastic welding and fabrication experience required
Welding experience with plastic extrusion welding desired
Requirements:
Able to read and understand blueprints
Ability to work with multiple types of thermoplastics
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Strong knowledge of welding/fabrication concepts, practices and procedures
Keen attention to detail
Able to operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely and efficiently
Self-motivated
Ability to work within a team
Experience with hand and power tools.
Travel:
Travel is not required with this position
Physical demands/working conditions:

Individuals must be able to work from heights.
Must be able to climb a ladder.
Ability to frequently lift or carry 20 – 50 pounds but occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 75 pounds).
This position may require working overtime, holidays and weekends when job/business needs demand.
Performing this job requires frequent use of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Must be able to sit, talk, hear, and stand frequently throughout the day. Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently.
Individuals may occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions, high places and/or hazardous equipment. May work with or around chemicals that require knowledge of a safety data sheet.
Salary to commensurate with experience: range $15-$22/hour
