Reports to Maintenance Manager

Job purpose

This position is responsible for performing basic and routine tasks of the assigned job, exercising independent judgment, and following all procedures, techniques, safety rules and regulations by using a hands-on approach. The Fabricator will be proficient in assessing fabrication needs and solutions and carrying out the plan once approved. Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM – Overtime when needed to complete repairs or projects for manufacturing deadlines.

Duties and responsibilities

Safety/AIB: Continual compliance with all company Safety & AIB policies (PPE/Clothing/Jewelry/etc.)

Must also be able to properly set up and use lathes, mills, drill presses, and surface grinders to make or machine parts to specification

Must be able to weld MIG, TIG (aluminum and stainless), stick, and solder.

Good organizational skill and attention to detail

Must demonstrate a positive attitude and work well with all employees

Ability to lift 5-50 pounds individually, higher with partner

Wear required PPE at all times

Create or modify new and existing parts or tooling through the use of machine shop equipment such as lathes, mills, drill presses, taps, dies, surface grinders, sanders, grinders, welders, and drills

Fabricate tables, carts, benches, and stands

Regularly document, track, record, and update tasks

Housekeeping: responsible for maintaining safe, clean and clutter free work areas

Complete Annual Safety Training and any additional required training specific for the position

Work with team to R&D new machine parts and various items

Qualifications

Education: A 2- year degree in a machining field or 3 years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing facility or machine shop required

Experience: Must be able to read blueprints, use dial calipers, micrometer, depth gauges, and scale
