Welder and Fabricator
SUMMARY
Successful applicant will conduct metal (primarily steel) fabrication and welding on a daily basis. Will be responsible for various types of structural welding, including preparation, welding, and finishing operations. Applicant must be able to read, interpret, and understand detail design prints. Successful applicant must be in good physical condition and able to work in a steel fabrication shop environment on a daily basis.
Credentials
Must be able to pass a weld test equivalent to AWS D1.1
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned.
Works directly with plant manager, shop supervisor, customer, drafter, and peers to produce finished products
Proficient in modern welding techniques and equipment
Good working knowledge of wire and filler material applications for various steel fabrication.
Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
Utilizes knowledge of various machines, welding practices, mathematics and building materials
Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications
Must have working knowledge of welding shop operations
Position requires self-motivated individual who can work independently but also performs well within teams or work groups
Successful applicant will be safety conscious and have good housekeeping practices
Able to work with minimum supervision and capable of self-checking for completeness and accuracy of work produced

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires broad technical experience in steel fabrication, assembly and welding.
