Who We Want
Spevco is seeking a well-rounded Structural Fabricator / Welder. This is a welding-focused position, however, your fabrication and fitment skills are just as important as your welding skills. The ideal candidate will come to us with a strong background and expertise in working with carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless (mainly MIG welding). In this role, you will be part of our Chassis Team, building custom trailer chassis for our special event vehicles. All of our trailers are designed and hand-built in-house.
What You’ll Really Be Doing
Spevco’s fabricators are reading cut lists and engineered drawings, and cutting, welding, and assembling materials for Spevco’s one-of-a-kind, custom exhibits and vehicles in support of our clients’ marketing, brand activation, and disaster relief goals. You will literally be creating the foundation of the brand experiences our clients have come to expect from Spevco.
Handling, cutting, welding, and assembling materials (steel, stainless, aluminum) for our custom chassis and structural enhancements
Ensuring that all chassis and assemblies are fabricated, welded, and installed according to our engineered drawings
Installing suspension systems, axles, slide housings, and various brackets on our chassis
Assisting in other manufacturing departments where necessary
Always following safety guidelines
Having fun in the process
What You Get Paid
This position is paid competitively on an hourly basis, and our offer will be determined by your level of experience and expertise.

Nitty Gritty Requirements

Adherence to all Safety Policies
1 year of fabrication AND welding experience (MIG, TIG, and Arc) with a variety of metals (mild steel, aluminum, stainless steel), welding certifications a plus
Ability to read cut lists and engineering drawings for the purpose of cutting and assembling various materials
Mechanical abilities; skill in using tools such as saws, drills, grinders, cut-off wheels, clamps, levels, and tape measures.
Always communicating with clarity; strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to maintain a professional and clean workspace, and assist in shop housekeeping as required
Strong safety mindset and willingness to be part of and promote our safety culture
Team player who can also perform without supervision
Physical & Mental Requirements
Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties, in at times extreme environments, as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position in operational and administrative situations. Required to frequently lift and move 10-75 pounds. Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, talk, hear, smell, see, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
