Custom Solutions Fabricator / Shipping Associate

Summary:
Reporting to the Custom Solutions Manager, the CS Fabricator / Shipping Associate performs tasks responsible primarily for the assembly of Swagelok parts and subassemblies that meet the customer specifications. In addition to their CS responsibilities, they will also have warehouse functions; including shipping, receiving, inventory management, logistics, and ensure customer service quality standards are met. Time ratio for each department will be 80-90% in Custom Solutions – balance in shipping and may vary depending on workload for the day. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have a willingness to learn, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to develop and maintain relationships.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Custom Solution Responsibilities:
Learn mechanical principals of Swagelok products to become a technical resource on Swagelok parts and products fabricated in house.
Responsible for obtaining required Swagelok Certifications and ensure they are kept up to date, including but not limited to:
1. Welding
2. Tube Bending
3. Hose Assembly
4. Gauge Filling
5. Ball Valve Assembly
6. Fitting Assembly and Reassembly
Demonstrated Proficiency with the following Swagelok Equipment:
1. Welder
2. Hand Swager
3. MHSU
4. All Benders
5. MS-Spot tool
6. Swagelok Push on Hose Tools
7. Hose Cell
8. Digital Calipers
9. Facing Tools
Responsible for hose and tube cutting, orbital welding, gauge filling and ABVAs
Review and interpret drawings and BOMs for accuracy
Utilize certifications to verify/inspect other fabricators’ work to be compliant with Quality System
Responsible for maintenance of tools, safety equipment and general workspace organization
Complete documentation and submittal requirements for projects
Collaborate with the CS team to identify solutions and develop process improvements.
Shipping Responsibilities:
Receive incoming shipments against electronic packing list and inspect for damages, configuration, quantity, material and quality
Unpack and store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, etc.
Pack and ship customer orders leveraging pick list and/or packing slip
Perform data entry to create shipping labels
Cut tubing to specified lengths and within tolerances
Ensure warehouse and inventory is orderly and accurate leveraging ISO standards
Ensure adequate and accurate inventory management by performing cycle counts
Operate and maintain machinery involved in the receiving of goods
Participate in customer tours and Swagelok corporate associate visits
Work with the Quality Manager to ensure we are prepared and pass all audits.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality system requirements; uphold all ISO and OSHA standards and maintain documentation applicable to the responsibilities above
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Demonstrated confidence speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees
Exposure to and comfort with basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to use forklift and table saw accurately and with proper safety protocol
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to build personal and team-based relationships with all levels of associates
Experience with basic computer applications and data entry
