CNC Prototype Machinist

Pearlsnap Machine Works is a small, family-owned prototype machine shop located in Madison, Wisconsin. We thrive on working efficiently and creatively to get accurately machined parts out the door. Most of our jobs are finished in time frames of a few hours and up to a week, and are highly deadline driven, offering us a lot of variety in our days. Roughly 75% of our work is in industrial grade plastics, with the balance in non-ferrous metals.

Job Description:
Responsibilities: CNC machining prototypes. Employees program and run their own parts through to completion. We use Fusion 360 and will cross-train from other CAM platforms. We currently run Fadal 3-axis CNC machines. Employees will often be running multiple jobs, machines and materials at the same time throughout the course of a day, checking parts during the process to ensure everything is within specifications.
Qualifications: Some CAM and CNC experience is required, with higher level education a plus. Great hand skills are required and a keen attention to precision in tolerancing as well as the aesthetic finish of parts. We machine for quality, not quantity.

- Pay range is $20 – $24 per hour, based on experience and skill set. Overtime pay beyond 40 hours a week is available depending on shop workload.
