Position Overview: The Business Development Representative is a sales professional that must consistently demonstrate the ability to create an environment whereby they deal with clients at a business-to-business level, providing solutions that fulfill the clients’ business needs. Sourcing of the solution’s ‘components’ may come from multiple suppliers, including Dassault Systemes and SOLIDWORKS Corp. This position is responsible for pursuing sales leads and prospective clients, building client relationships, maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions, and maintaining account relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Through prospecting calls, and marketing activities, you will generate demand and consistent pipeline for assigned SOLIDWORKS products.
  • Meeting or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual unit and revenue targets.
  • Investigate and understand the internal business processes of potential clients
  • Hold a technical understanding of customer’s business objectives in order to map a strategy consisting of machines, materials, training and implementation as a solution to those business objectives.
  • Managing the sales activities of the assigned territory and provide detailed, accurate monthly forecasts.
  • Coordinating with others within the company to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Goals:

  • Know the Executives, Key Decision Makers, and Org Chart for every key customer
  • Achieve stated opportunity creation and Revenue goals by calling into prospective clients
  • Learn to understand customer issues by asking the right questions in the right way
  • Learn how to uncover objections and resolve them with the customer
  • Develop rapport-building conversations for initiating new opportunities
  • Understand the problems and results that customers face. Use these as dialogue builders
  • Engage in structured conversations to effectively uncover the driving forces behind the customer needs
  • Use a process and tools to identify the right opportunities
  • Develop effective questions that discover needs, build trust, and develop a business case with the customer
  • Engage in mutually beneficial conversations that explore possibilities and build trust
  • Use key measures to improve your skills and manage time in order to win more sales

Requirements

  • Some Sales experience in Manufacturing, Information Technology, or Computer Software industry preferred
  • Sales experience with CAD software, preferably SOLIDWORKS, solutions preferred
  • Four-year degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Prior success calling on C- and V-level decision makers
  • Strong prospecting skills and ability develop business
  • Strong working knowledge of CRM platforms
  • A desire to hunt new business opportunities
  • Ability to manage all facets of the sales cycle
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with teams
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
