Description

Position Overview: Computer Aided Technology is looking to add a people-focused, SOLIDWORKS enthusiast to our Ambler, PA office. The Application Engineer is primarily responsible for pre-sales support, training, and post-sales support of SolidWorks and related products.

Responsibilities:

Pre-Sales Support

  • Support company sales efforts by conducting pre-sales demonstrations and presentations to customers and prospective customers.
  • Provide technical assistance to sale personnel for customer meetings.
  • Deliver demonstrations and presentations comfortably to anyone in a company hierarchy from a draftsman to the CEO or business owner.
  • Develop and present custom demonstrations to satisfy specific customer requests.
  • Assist sales personnel in qualifying prospective customers, determining critical business issues and product positioning.

Training

  • Conduct structured training classes on various CAD products in a professional manner.
  • Assist in maintaining training hardware and infrastructure.

Post-Sales Support

  • Coordinates and executes the installation and service of solutions for our customers.
  • Provides high quality technical support via email, telephone, and site visits to our customers.
  • Create content for marketing related videos, blogs, user groups, newsletters, and conferences.

Continue education by obtaining and maintaining the following certifications: Certified Specialist – Mechanical Design (CSWS-MD), Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional (CSWP), Certified SOLIDWORKS Expert (CSWE), Certified SolidWorks Instructor (CSWI), Certified Professional – Presentation (CSPP), and Certified Professional – Digital Presentation (CSDPP)

Requirements

Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 2 years working in the industries of Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and or MCAD
  • 2-3 years of experience working with SOLIDWORKS on a full-time basis
  • Thorough understanding of engineering processes
  • Must be customer focused and service oriented
  • Superb presentation skills are required
  • Ability to learn new skills, adapt to changing environments and show attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with teams
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal)
  • Exhibits dynamic problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • < 20% travel required – (mostly local, some overnight stays)
