The Merrill Institute is a trade school located inside of a live manufacturing facility. We are housed inside MERRILL’s fabrication and welding facility in Central Michigan. We specialize in weld training and nationally certifying our students. We offer a 12 week, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. program that not only teaches you the art of welding but teaches you how to manipulate metal. The program is module base so we start our students at the core basics by teaching them how to set up their welding equipment along with the proper gas selection for the process. Students learn MIG, TIG, Stick and Flux Core along with blue print reading and weld symbol interpretation. They learn 3 different types of cutting and welding inspection methods. When our students complete the program successfully, they have obtained a very well rounded skill and are ready to begin their welding careers. Our students receive their American Welding Society (AWS) SENSE Level One certification. This is a nationally recognized credential. We also assist our student with employment and have a 98% employment rate.
